Hi, I’m Monica!
I am a Zainichi Korean / Canadian, based in the countryside of Tottori, Japan. I work with traditional food skills as a way to move in rhythm with the land and its seasons. It’s also a way for me to remember ancestral ways, weave together community and reclaim food as the everyday people’s medicine.
I am a birth keeper & postpartum care provider. My approach is holistic and mother-led and to honor physiologic design of mama and baby. I believe in encouraging women to tap into their innate wisdom and personal autonomy. My care is rooted in traditional practices of tending to the womb and mothers.
I am deeply inspired by exploring the more slow-hands-on ways of doing life. Not only because it’s indispensable to know how to do things with our own hands and to think for ourselves: but also because it’s a means to reimagine new ways of being in the world today.
Feel free to get in touch with me, I would be happy to connect with you ~
